Love You - Feb 13th Sketch

Jane here, with my interpretation of

 Nanne's great sketch, which you

 will find on the

 right side bar.

 

Not my usual style of scrapping.

 

I bought the

 "Cupid's Arrow" papers

 from My Mind's Eye last year,

and really didn't know what to

 do with them, they just

 weren't me!

 

So, this year, instead of buying more

 valentine style papers I was

 determined to use these.

 

Nanne's sketch is perfect for them.

 

Quick and easy to put together,

and quite clean and simple

 for me - no distressing,

no mess!!

Great photo of me with my eldest and

 youngest Granddaughters, from

 Mother's Day last year.

Goes with last year's papers....hee hee!!

Just a wee bit black inking to the

 edges of the papers to

help define them.

Me & You

Hello sketch fans, it's Rosie with my take on Nanne's fabulous sketch which you can find on the sidebar on your right. Sketches are a great starting point for a layout, you can duplicate them exactly as is or pick and choose the elements you like best, there are no rules!

{supplies: pp/geotags/gem/alphas/stitching stencil-American Crafts/Studio Calico, washi tape?; rosette die, courtyard die, mirrored sheet-Tim Holtz}

I had a doily I'd misted for a previous project and didn't use which I substituted for the large heart in the sketch.

I used a combination of patterned paper and washi tape under the photo and the title block. You could easily use just washi tape for this if you have a healthy supply like I do ;).
The fashion world says it's okay to mix your metals so I figured the Tim Holtz mirrored sheet cut with the Tim Holtz courtyard die would work great with the gold geotags.

The negative pieces from the border die serve as the rosette centres, I used the rosettes instead of the hearts in the sketch.

A stencil and paper piercer made this hand stitched ampersand easy to do. This is such an easy sketch to work I encourage you to give it try!

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL - Friday 13th Sketch

 

 

Hi everyone, Caroleanne from  http://theprettypaperpatisserie.blogspot.co.uk/ here with you today with my version on our February 13th Sketch

For this layout I have used one of my favourite colour combos, COMPLIMENTARY colours from my colour wheel, purple and yellow, see below for more details.

HERES HOW

Cut down a sheet of pretty paper to 11x11 inches and adhere to a 12x12 inch cardstock

Matt photo in matching cardstock

Lightly adhere photo as per the sketch

Start to layer up around the photo as per the sketch, ink the layers as you go

Cut out two black hearts and add stitches around the edges

Start to layer up in the top corner, co-ordinating with the main grouping

 Decorate with flowers, butterflies, mini roses, pearls, leaves etc

Add the title and any journaling

I added a little stamped camera at the end

February 13th-Sketch Challenge

Hi fellow scrappers..

Its the first sketch challenge of February today and its gonna be a good one :)

You can use it to be really creative and think outside of your comfort zone, or keep it simple and focus on the photo.. Totally up to you , the creator of your memories..

Here is this weeks sketch:

and what a great way to use up some of your favorite paper scraps..

Here is what I created using this sketch:

I decided to get a little "mixed media" using some stencils, texture paste and pain sprays..

The layout is of my son Adam being a goofball :)

How about a few close ups:

Wanted to add a fun "in your face" title for my page..

the mustache just had to be added since my sons been growing his out.. 

Here he was putting together one of my Raskog carts.. being a silly guy, he gets his sense of humor from me :)

and I had to use the goofball label..LOL

All of these die cuts were found in the SIL store and some  

are digital elements that I printed and then with my Silhouette Cameo.. 

and now for the top three from our "Warm and Cozy" Die Cut challenge..
