SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Warm and Cozy

Hi and welcome to Stuck On U Sketches. This is Julie from Cards by Cricut with my project for the Design Team Die Cut challenge - Warm and Cozy. This challenge gave me a little struggle at first because I was unsure how I was going to describe warm and cozy in a die cut. And this Winter has been pretty chilly here. With temps never getting out of the 30's, that can be cold. Then I thought about what makes me all warm and cozy and I came up with a
nice hot coffee or cocoa warming up your hands. So I came up with this cute card. I used the Cricut Lite cartridge Love A Latte. I cut the cafe cup at 4-1/2". Cutting it out on my Explore made it so easy to do plus it cut it so perfectly. I then put the card together. There is a detailed list on my blog.
So get your supplies together and make your own warm and cozy project and do what I did if you can't think of anything. Ask yourself, "What makes you all warm and cozy?" Then get your project together. And don't forget to try for our top 3 competition. Thanks so much for coming to our blog and we all hope you have a great weekend.

SOUS Die Cut Challenge - Snow

Hi everyone and welcome to Stuck On U Sketches! I am Julie from Cards By Cricut here with today's Die Cut Challenge - Snow. We finally had our first snow of the season. We only got about 4 inches but it was enough to slow things down around here. It also happened on the 1st of January. That is right, New Year's Day of all times. It was such a blast too. The only real problem is that when it snows it gets awfully cold too. We were down in the teens and I always feel sorry for the animals outside. So that is what my card is about, called First Snow. I have a beautiful pair of robins searching for food right after it has snowed. There are even snowflake still coming down. I had a lot of fun creating this card. I started with a base of brown cardstock measured at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2. I folded this in half. My first layer is a light blue measuring 4 x 5-1/4. I then embossed my next layer measuring 3-3/4 x 5. I placed 4 metal dots with my I-Rock tool in each
corner. I cut the image with my Cricut Explore and inked around the edges of the snow and placed on. The 2 robins are a different cut and I placed them on with foam tape so they will stick up some. I put stickles on the edge of the snow and also on the snowflakes. All the extra details are on my blog, Cards By Cricut. So be sure to check it out.
Thanks so much for coming to our blog and be sure to join our Die Cut Challenge - Snow for your chance to make our Top 3. Just use the link below. Have a great weekend! :)

Happy New Year everyone and we have our very first sketch of the New Year up and running for you.. Wooo Hoo!! we made it...LOL
What a way to start the year than with a cute little sketch from pagemaps..
They have some awesome sketches, lots to choose from and they are very versatile..
All you need is a little bit of imagination, some great papers and a few choice embellishment and you will end up with a great page for your album.

But before we get to the Design Team work, all of us ladies want to thank everyone for the past year and for all the ladies that joined in weekly with their layouts.. You all mean the world to us and lets have just as much fun this year as we all did last year..
We're hoping to make this year extra special and get some more projects out there for you this year , some extra challenges, helpful tips and maybe even a tutorial or two..

well, with all that said.. lets get to the good stuff.

*This weeks Helpful Tip:
When working on a two page layout, turn the two base papers/cardstock upside down and push them together. add a few small pieces of masking tape over the seam to keep the two sheets together..Now, when you turn it back the right way, you can add your papers on both pages and they will allign perfectly.. No more off set papers.. remember to remove the masking tape carefully before you start adding embellishments

Dec 10th Bobunny die cut challenge (no sketch) but some blog candy .. woohoo!

Gosh, December 10th .. already?!! Where has this year gone?? Anyway, we are glad that you are joining us this week. We have something a little different for you this time. We were asked by Generations Crafting if we would be interested in doing a Die Cut paper challenge and of course, we said yes! So, each of the designers (with one exception ... who already had hers) has chosen a die cut paper from the Bo Bunny collections provided by Floren at GenC and used it on their project. On a side note: this was kind of fun sending the same papers out to all our designers from Texas across the USA and on to Finland, Norway and Australia.  {{{Group hug!}}} Now, if you don't have Bo Bunny, that's okay! You can use any die cut paper in that stash of yours  ... yes, we know that you are hoarding a few! LOL And if you aren't, you can make your own die cut paper using a die cut machine or template. Just get creative and show us what you can do! You will have 2 weeks to upload your project.

Now, we haven't had any blog candy in a while, so .... this month we are sending the lucky winner 18 sheets of gorgeous Bo Bunny papers along with a great Summer Sticker Pack. Thanks to Generations Crafting  for such yummy candy! Just leave us a comment telling us what you would do with the blog candy if you were to win. We will announce the winner on our Dec 24th post.

So, let's take a break from the demands of the holiday and see what our designers did this week!

November 26

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

This is such a wonderful time of year! And we all have so much to be grateful for, a hobby that not only brings us joy in creating but also brings together a large community of friends. This site alone has brought together a kind and talented group of ladies that we all feel lucky to know, not only speaking of the designers but also the many of you that join us in our challenges! So don't forget in all the hustle of this week to take time to snap a few photos and possibly use them with this sketch! =)

We want to again thank Ness Waller for another original sketch! This is totally stunning and we have a feeling will be greatly liked by everyone! This sketch has such great potential to be turned into amazing pages and with that said...let's take a look at some...

Nov 12, Lisa Gregory, Guest Designer

We are well into the month of November and what could be better then some original sketches and a wonderfully talented Guest Designer?

Vanessa Waller of Crafty Ness has graciously designed some sketches that you will only find here at Stuck on U Sketches for the month of November. We thank her for her time and for sharing her unique and lovely sketches with us (and it just so happens that she is the DIL of our very own Annette! who knew! LOL!)

We hope that you are able to join us this week and please come back next time to see the cool and totally different sketch we have for you (just in time to scrap that memorable family photo from Thanksgiving dinner!) FYI ... Lisa McIntyre is off this week but will return for the next challenge.

We also have a Guest Designer this week, so scroll on down!

Please meet our very special Guest Designer, Lisa Gregory.  We are so honored to have her designing with us this week!

Here is a bit about Lisa in her own words:

I started my real interest in scrapboooking in 2005 when I was helping my son and his girlfriend (wife now) work on their senior project. A scrapbook of their lives. As soon as I hit the scrapbook isle at Michaels and saw all of the products related to scrapbooking, I was hooked. A crafter all of my life I think I have done everything. But paper was always an obession. And so was my photography. In discovering scrapbooking, I was able to blend  my scrapbooking and photography to create the 12 x 12 LO's I still create today. I love creating tutorials for flowers and techniques for scrapbooking and sharing what I learn with others.
I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida with my high school sweetheart..Who also happens to be my husband!! We have 2 children. Our son is married and lives a few miles away. Our daughter is attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary  Arts in Portland, Oregon. I am a registered nurse by profession. I am currently the design Team Coordinator for Swirlydoos and on the design team at Heartfelt Creations. I have been a long time fan of Stuck On U Sketches and was honored to be asked to be the Guest Designer this week. Thank you Nanne, Sandi and Leah for the opportunity. Love you girls!!
Hugs,
Okay, that's it for today. We can't wait to see what you do with this fantastic sketch. Thanks again to Ness! Remember you will have 2 weeks to upload your project.
